RICHARD FORBES BSc; HPC member; MCSP; |
I have always been a keen sportsman, which inevitably led to a couple of visits to the physio & I became interested in pursuing it as a career. I graduated from Coventry University in 2003 and began working at the Royal Berkshire Hospital two months later. After four years of gaining experience in all the different departments I settled into my role as part of the Hand Therapy Team within the Outpatient Department. This role included specialist training in things such as x-ray interpretation and working closely with the Consultant Hand Surgeons within the Hand Clinic at The Royal Berkshire Hospital. I am a member of the British Association of Hand Therapists I completed my Diploma in Injection Therapy in 2010, which enables me to carry out prescribed corticosteroid injections at The Royal Berkshire Hospital. I began working at the Howard Clinic in 2009 and I greatly enjoy the variety of conditions working here enables me to treat. I am still a keen sportsman, playing cricket for Rowledge CC in the Southern Premier League and I regularly play golf. I try to use this experience to inform and focus my treatments when a sports focused approach is needed. I use a variety of treatment techniques including acupuncture, to approach your problem from different angles. >> BACK TO MEET THE TEAM |
