BSc (Hons); MCSP; HPC member
I qualified in 1997 with a Bsc Honours degree in physiotherapy. I worked at The Royal Free Hospital London for two and a half years specializing in neurology. I also worked in the National Ears, Nose and Throat Hospital in London treating patients with vestibular conditions.
After my first four years of clinical experience in London an opportunity came up to live in New Zealand. I worked in Auckland City Hospital in the Acute Head Injuries Unit for two years and thoroughly enjoyed the life style and work style of New Zealand. I then moved to a rural part of New Zealand, Wanganui where I worked in an acute stroke Unit.
On my return from New Zealand I took up the part time post of Senior Physiotherapist at The Royal Berkshire Hospital Stroke Unit. I work as a domicillary (home visits) neurological physiotherapist for The Howard Clinic.
My treatment approach is very hands on, analyzing movement with function to try and achieve the patients goals. I have done Bobath Courses in normal movement and have also attended courses on splinting, use of the Swiss ball and vestibular treatment techniques. I continue to reflect and adapt my treatments for each patient.
