RICHARD FORBES
BSc; HPC member; MCSP; Dip in Injection Therapy
After having grown up playing a lot of sport, which inevitably led to a couple of visits to the
physio, I became interested in pursuing it as a career.
I graduated from Coventry University in 2003 and began working at the Royal Berkshire Hospital 2 months later. After 4 years of gaining experience in all the different departments I settled into my role as part of the Hand Therapy Team within the Outpatient Department. This role included specialist training in things such as x-ray interpretation and working closely with the Consultant Hand Surgeons within the Hand Clinic at the Royal Berks.
I am a member of the British Association of Hand Therapists.
I completed my Diploma in Injection Therapy in 2010, which enables me to carry out prescribed corticosteroid injections.
I began working at the Howard Clinic in 2009, both in the clinic itself and in the evening hydrotherapy groups. I greatly enjoy the variety of conditions working here enables me to treat.
I am still a keen sportsman, playing cricket for Rowledge CC in the Southern Premier League and regularly playing golf. I try to use this experience to inform and focus my treatments when a sports focussed approach is needed.
Looking forward to meeting you if, and when, you need me.
