MICHAELA COWAP BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, |
I am an experienced physiotherapist, specialising in Aquatic Physiotherapy and Paediatrics. I graduated from King’s College London with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2008 and worked at The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading where I gained a large amount of experience in many different areas over 5 years and completing group hydrotherapy sessions there as well as at The Howard Clinic. In early 2014 I moved to specialise in paediatrics at Southampton Children’s Hospital, but feel very privileged to still be able to continue my passion for hydrotherapy at The Howard Clinic. My interest in Aquatic Physiotherapy started as a student and has continued ever since. As a member of the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (ATACP) I attend study days and have completed various courses to keep my skills up to date. I enjoy introducing new ideas in the Hydrotherapy pool whether it be from a course covering Pilates or Neurological concepts. I enjoy treating patients of all ages, presenting with all different problems, continuously challenging my skills and allowing me to adapt treatments for patients to gain such positive benefits. As a keen runner and hockey player I have experienced a number of injuries and the long road to recovery with the help of physiotherapy- which is where my initial interest in a physiotherapy career stemmed from at 13 years old! As one of the newest members of The Howard Clinic I thrive within the supportive environment and the wealth of knowledge within the team.. >> BACK TO MEET THE TEAM |
