I am a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Neurological Rehabilitation, I qualified in 1990, from Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. In 1993, I moved to Reading to work in the Neuro Rehabilitation Unit at The Royal Berkshire Hospital, the regional unit responsible for treating adults with complex neurological disability, such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Cerebral Palsy and Spinal Cord Injuries. I became Superintendent Physiotherapist in 1996. I have completed a number of post-graduate courses, including the Basic and Advanced Bobath courses, and I undertook a Masters Degree in Neurorehabilitation at Brunel University. From 1999 to 2012 I was a clinical specialist on the Neuro out patient department at The Royal Berkshire Hospital both as a clinician and a teacher to other physiotherapists. I have trained in the in the Sarah Key Method, which treats spinal pain and dysfunction and I have also attained qualifications in Acupuncture and Hydrotherapy. I also have experience in the use of Functional Electrical Stimulation and received training on the use of Saeboflex orthotics. Part of my role involves treating patients in their own homes where necessary to support them to reach their full potential. In addition, I am a member of ACPIN, a group of physiotherapists with a special interest in Neurology, run by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and I also belong to the AACP, the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. >> BACK TO MEET THE TEAM |
