CAROLYN TOWNDROW
MCSP; HPC member; MAACP
I am an experienced and enthusiastic Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in treatment of
musculoskeletal conditions, especially Sports and Spinal problems.
After qualifying in 1993 from The Middlesex School of Physiotherapy in London, I spent 5 years working in the NHS as a junior at Wexham Park Hospital, Slough, then as a senior in Frimley Park Hospital.
I then travelled to Australia, working in a clinic with close ties to a health club, sports teams and triathletes and also treating Paralympians in preparation for the 2000 Olympic Games.
On my return to England I worked in Yorkshire helping to build up a local private physiotherapy clinic and also providing specialist physiotherapy services to a spinal research establishment which performs pioneering laser surgery.
In 2002 I qualified as a Pilates instructor, concentrating on the Modified Clinical Pilates approach which enables those recovering from injuries to perform Pilates safely.
I have also trained in the Sarah Key Method of back care which places the emphasis on patients gaining a full understanding as to the cause of their back pain and taking and active part in their own recovery.
Most recently I have qualified in the use of acupuncture and I find it an essential adjunct to my physiotherapy practice as it helps me to provide a truly holistic approach to patients’ problems.
I am also an outdoor pursuits instructor and mother to a lovely little boy.
I very much look forward to meeting (and treating) you!
